We often joke we, along with a few other new Maggie Griffin Design faces, are the modern day version of “Designing Women”. Since our grand opening on April 26, we’ve been settling into our new headquarters. We are grateful to work with exceptional builders, skilled architects, proficient vendors, and talented tradesmen in the design community. While just a few short months have passed since we welcomed friends, family, and clients through our doors, the process for my office and studio has been in the works for quite some time. For the better part of the last year, I’ve been working on the planning and renovation of the office space and studio for Maggie Griffin Design. While that process was completed in a little under 5 months, my husband, David, and I have been scouting potential houses for me to renovate for my office space for roughly two years.
It’s been a roller coaster project, but I’ve loved every second of it. Working on and off with the project for about two years, the Maggie Griffin Design team created a nature-inspired aesthetic that merges older vintage pieces with modern art and fabrics. To achieve the right look, Maggie also employed a color scheme that includes greens, blues, and earth tones galore — just the right shades to honor the Gainesville landscape.

This perspective comes simply from 25 years of experience wearing custom wigs, and 17 years designing wigs and hairpieces; all to bring women and children living with hair loss peace of mind. While the foyer is decorated with a perfect symmetry that is pleasing to the eye, Griffin also selected wood consoles from England and finished with mirrors and sconces to make the space feel open and airy. “The exterior is very natural with lots of trees and overhang that give shade to the house tucked into the woods,” Maggie tells us. The interior certainly picks up on this element, offering various materials such as wood ceiling beams, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and plenty of space that capitalizes on the timbered view. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
